Position Overview:
The Account Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the client’s growth and enhancing its reputation within the Department of Justice (DoJ). This position is focused on aligning innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the DoJ, as well as formulating and executing strategic initiatives to unlock new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience within the DoJ landscape and excel at conveying the client’s value proposition to both new and existing clients. The Account Manager will be responsible for the overall success of the account, encompassing client satisfaction, financial performance, and team dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Propel account growth and revenue generation in alignment with enterprise objectives within the DoJ sector.
- Establish and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities related to the DoJ.
- Collaborate with the Business Development (BD) team on capture and proposal processes, including reviewing proposals, establishing pricing strategies, and aligning resources with market strategy and growth targets.
- Assume the role of capture manager for select opportunities and assist in the creation of white papers, Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFP), and other marketing efforts.
- Analyze industry trends and market dynamics to refine the client’s strategy and market approach for the DoJ account.
- Identify opportunities to align client solutions with DoJ needs, enhancing value and impact for both new and existing customers; spearhead the adoption of innovative delivery solutions.
- Build and nurture strong client relationships by leveraging networks with key decision-makers and influencers within the DoJ.
- Act as the escalation point for client relationship management, ensuring all client concerns and needs are addressed effectively.
- Assess and manage various account risks (including personnel, financial, and contractual risks).
- Provide guidance on shaping and scoping project work, while validating the technical approach taken.
- Participate in marketing and networking initiatives to articulate the client’s value proposition and enhance brand visibility.
- Lead teams in business development efforts and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Cultivate talent development and foster a culture of continuous learning to boost individual and organizational performance.
- Ensure resources are allocated strategically for talent development, performance management, succession planning, and the implementation of best practices across delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the company’s annual strategy and financial plan.
- Clearly communicate and embody the client’s vision, objectives, and expectations.
- Achieve annual performance metrics (e.g., pipeline growth, utilization rates, and revenue targets).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of professional experience, with:
o 10+ years managing large-scale consulting projects and/or change management initiatives within government contracting.
o 5+ years of people management experience.
- 5+ years of business development experience, with a proven track record in generating new leads and expanding existing client relationships.
- Established familiarity with and relationships in the DoJ.
- Experience in federal government contracting and proven success in portfolio growth.
- Expertise in areas such as change strategy, strategic planning, organizational design, leadership development, process improvement, and digital transformation.
- Strong group facilitation skills, enabling effective outcomes in high-stakes, complex environments.
- Proficient in customer relationship management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce) to effectively manage client interactions and data.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess account performance and identify opportunities based on customer behavior.
- Willingness to travel to client sites within the DC and Baltimore metro areas, with the possibility of occasional travel beyond these regions (approximately 5%).
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance and/or pass necessary background checks for client work.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for future visa sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications: experience in change management, strategic planning, program management, and/or organizational design; certifications such as PMP and/or Change Management (e.g., Prosci).
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $131,815.00 to $210,905.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, certifications, and clearance level. Opportunities for performance-based salary progression will be available. This role also offers robust benefits and participation in the client's incentive compensation (bonus) programs.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Employees may be required to attend meetings both in and out of the office, travel extensively, and occasionally work evenings or weekends, as necessary. Effective communication, computer proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds may be required. While the role is primarily sedentary, it may involve occasional walking, climbing stairs, and standing.
